Bi-Weekly presentation

MLA Standards                             Grading                        

Every other week you will be graded on a  presentation created by you.  The content of this presentation must be on a topic per Mr. DeMerle, for example:

1.   A Power Point  in-depth topic covered in class, it must include information or tips not covered in class.

2.   A Power Point computer topic not covered in class. 

If Game topics are your topic, your information must include two of the following topics:

·        How can this game be customized (details).

·        The creators, history and profit.

·        How was it written (in what language), and how many took part in writing it.

·        What specialized equipment (if any) is needed to run it?

           
If Hardware is your topic you must include information and comparisons about similar equipment.

(hint: Consider your audience before starting your presentation. Your audience could be beginners to the level of the class (NOT ADVANCED))

                    All presentation must have a minimum of ten slides with animation, 
                    printouts will be turned in prior to the presentation. 

 

                3.    A useful application tool created in any application.  
                       Your presentation will include it's purpose (topic), how a user will use it and how you created with details.
                                It will include a slide show (or equivalent) of 10 slide.

Presentations

 

TIPS:

  • Slide shows always start off with an introductory slide that includes a title your name and date, and an ending slide (including references).

  • Include graphics and animation (at least 1 graphic every other slide or so).

  • Your topic can continue the next week.

  • You can pick topics that have been discussed by other students, BUT YOURS MUST BE UNIQUE IN STYLE AND CONTENT.

 

Resources you can use:

  • Magazines.

  • Book.

  • The internet & another source.

You will be graded on the following:

Content/Purpose: Topic (plot) is clear. Concepts include personal information (not just copied). Concepts are broken down into smaller pieces of information that everyone can understand. Your sources of information is clearly referenced.
Work habits:

Work first. Projects is well underway one week before it is due. 

Project is completed one day before due.

Quality of work:. Readability, content and function. Approximately 10 slides, with one background theme, easy to understand. 
OR ---- Project is equivalent to 10 slides (see instructor prior to starting your project).
Completion of Work: Not your Minimum, but your best. (COPY AND PASTE IS MINIMUM.)
Presentation: Can you verbally explain the topic.

(Note: not all presentations will be presented before the class.)

A LOG must be kept by you about your presentations.  The LOG will contain: The date, Title of the presentations, brief description and a place for the grade.
