FULL CATALOG DESCRIPTION:
This
course will introduce students to several of the technologies that underlie the
segmentation of larger corporate local area networks through the use of
routers, bridges, and switching technologies. Utilizing topical lectures,
hands-on labs and other educational resources, students will gain an
understanding of the goals for network segmentation, as well as the
technologies utilized.
Prerequisites: CSN 205..
COURSE OBJECTIVES / STUDENT LEARNING
OUTCOMES:
At the conclusion of this
course, students will be able to demonstrate each of the following skills
through computer projects or tests:
1.
Identify Classless Routing, VLSM,
RIP and Version 2 as demonstrated per 85% competence on a test and a lab.
2.
Identify routing protocols OSPF
and EIGRP as demonstrated per 85% competences on a test and a lab.
3.
Identify routing protocols OSPF
and EIGRP as demonstrated per 85% competences on a test and a lab.
4.
Identify switching concepts and
configurations as demonstrated per 85% competence on a test and a lab.
5.
Identify spanning tree protocols
as demonstrated per 85% competence on a test and a lab.
6.
Identify virtual lans and trunking
protocols as demonstrated per 85% competence on a test and a lab.
