Understanding the rules, procedures and classroom etiquette.


THE STORY

    You are a new student in the computer technology lab.  You are in a class with students that come from 7 different schools, and you have realized that each have various computer talents and experiences!  You want to succeed, BUT HOW?

            You are worried about:

    You decide to start things off right, without delay. 

THE ASSIGNMENT (If you are having problems getting to the CTWEB page see resources below or ask your instructor for help)

Open MS Word and copy the questions below into Word. Answer each question, put your name at the top of the document, print it and turn it in.

  1. Under BOCES Rules, read the general AUP.   In your own words explain how the AUP affect you.
  2. Under BOCES Rules, what are the Consequences for:
            Installing unauthorized software
            Lecture interruptions or delays
            "PLAYING" with the back of PCs', or components.
            Roaming on breaks
            Stay seated until dismissed
  3. Under LAB SAFETY: 
            Why do think there is a rule about "horseplay"?
            Why is there a rule about NOT wearing headphone when entering the building?
            Why is there a rule about "low music" or "no music" in the lab?
            Why is there a rule about being polite?
  4. Under the Daily Check list: Why is it important to make sure your area is clean BEFORE & AFTER you sit down to work?
  5. Why are games not allowed?
  6. What is the difference between: lecture Notes & Manuals (your notebook).
  7. What can you do in the lecture room to help your understanding of the topic? 
  8. What can you do in the LAB to help your understanding of the topic?
  9. What can you use to be better prepare in the lab and lecture room?
  10. If you have not already reviewed the "How to succeed in this class" presentation with Mr. D. please do so now.
    In one or two paragraphs, please write down how you would like your fellow students to treat you.  In you paragraphs answer some of the following:
            Do you like to tease, do you like to be teased?
            Are you soft spoken or do you SPEAK -OUT!
            Are you shy?
