    This program is open to all students in their junior or senior year.  Students will learn about all aspects of computer technology including standard software packages, operating systems and hardware architecture. 

    OBJECTIVES OF PROGRAM

    During the Junior year students are introduced to basic and advanced Microsoft Office and basic computer concepts. Also, the curriculum will cover the fundamentals of computer hardware and software as well as advanced concepts.  The students will be able to describe the internal components of a computer and laptops, assemble a computer system, install an operating system, and troubleshoot using system tools and diagnostic software. 

    During the Senior year students will explore Web Design, Networking, Programming, Cybersecurity and Multimedia. 

    Equipment and Resources

    The main lab has 22 computers. Each group will build a new PC in their senior year.  The seniors are responsible for the network and PC performance, including a second senior managed network.  The small lab is used mainly for experiments, repairs, software and hardware evaluations. 

    After a two year course of study students are eligible for NOCTI certification, COMPTIA A+ certification and GCC college credits.
