Copyright Laws and the Internet
General Guidelines
As long as you limit use of the copyrighted work to inside your classroom, you are operating well within the copyright laws.
- Always give proper credit to any borrowed Internet work in all reports and essays.
- If you post a copyrighted work (photograph) on-line or take it outside the classroom, contact the original owner of the copyright for permission: e-mail the site's WebMaster for permission.
- Make sure that you or your students don't download and repost copies of a painting or a piece of software that is for sale on-fine.
When in doubt, always ask for permission.
