• Lead Contamination Testing Results

On September of 2016, Governor Cuomo signed a law that required all public schools to test water for lead contamination every five years.  Orleans/Niagara BOCES has contracted with Stohl Environmental Consultants to perform the 2020 tests.  All together there were over 298 samples taken.  Out of those samples, 14 were found to be above a 15ppm action level.

All of the lab data has been reported to the Department of Health and we have replaced faucets, pipes and drinking fountains and placed signs that read “Nonpotable Water – Do Not Drink” until repairs or replacements could be made.

The health and safety of Orleans/Niagara BOCES’ students, faculty and staff continues to be our BOCES’ top priority.  We are following all protocols and recommendations from Stohl and will continue to vigilant with testing the water quality at our sites.

Copies of the Orleans/Niagara BOCES’ final water reports for each site can be found using the links to the left.
