- Handling of labor relations matters for Orleans/Niagara BOCES and for school districts participating in the BOCES Labor Relations service
- Analysis of collective bargaining agreements
- Accumulation, analysis and dissemination of comparative data
- Preparation and presentation of oral and written reports on labor relations issues
- Representations in grievance arbitration matters
- Research and writing of factfinding briefs
- Representation before the New York State Public Employment Relations Board relating to improper practice charges, representation issues, etc.; and related research and writing
- Negotiation of collective bargaining agreements, including instructional and non-instructional contracts
- Provision of regular updates of legal and other developments in the field of labor relations
Personnel
- Handling of personnel/human resources matters for Orleans/Niagara BOCES and for school districts participating in the BOCES Labor Relations service
- Provision of in-service for staff on issues of employment law and personnel administration; e.g. employment discrimination and sexual harassment
- Review and analysis of staff handbooks and district policies
- Assistance in investigations of suspected or alleged incidents of employee wrongdoing
- Consultation and issuance of advisory opinions with respect to labor relations and personnel issues
- Representation in proceedings before the federal Equal Employment Opportunity Commission (EEOC) and the New York State Division of Human Rights
- Other services related to contract or personnel administration
