Job Description: Anticipated initial assignment is to be at the Orleans Learning Center, Medina, NY. The individual shall provide services to high school students with emotional/behavioral disabilities, learning disabilities, low cognitive functioning and autism spectrum disorders for grades 9 – 12 in a 6:1:1 classroom. The individual must have knowledge of students with significant emotional and behavioral disabilities, including cognitive delays. Strong behavior management and leadership skills, and the ability to modify curriculum to meet students’ needs are required. The individual must be able to differentiate the curriculum and supervise and lead the support staff. Therapeutic Crisis Intervention (TCI) training and experience with writing and implementing Individualized Education Plans (IEPs), including progress monitoring, is desired. The candidate must possess or be eligible for certification as follows: special education K – 12; or students with disabilities 7 – 12 with content area; or students with disabilities 7-12 and a content area. Regular attendance and dependability are required. Other responsibilities may be assigned. Assignment is subject to change.
