Culinary Arts Students Get Inspired for Canapes

Culinary Arts teacher Lisa Cook asked her students to come up with their interpretation of a canape for a recent class at the Niagara Career and Technical Education Center.  “I do this in our lab every year and I allow groups of students to come up with a bite sized open-faced cold sandwich to serve as a hors d’oeuvres,” says Ms. Cook. 

The students had a blast with the assignment and one team even came up with a dessert item.  “The focus for each team was ensuring all bite sized items looked exactly the same,” says Cook.   “They did a fantastic job!”
