Allied Health Students Take Part in SUNY’s Got Your Back Day

Students pose in front of boxes The Allied Health students in Lisa Trapasso’s class at the Niagara Falls Memorial Medical Center recently took part in SUNY’s Got Your Back Day at Niagara County Community College (NCCC).

SUNY’s Got Your Back provides the opportunity for students, faculty, staff, and community members from across the state to create comfort kits for victims and survivors of violence, and to learn methods of better preventing and responding to violence.

The bags are filled with personal care items one might need when a victim arrives at a shelter or a hospital. Volunteers gathered at the NCCC campus to put together the bags.  Mrs. Trapasso said her students really enjoyed helping out this worthy endeavor.

The event also involved volunteers from the Niagara County Sheriff’s Department, the Lewiston-Porter Key Club and the YWCA of Niagara.
