Allied Health Class Participates in SUNY’s Got Your Back
Allied Health students in Lisa Trapasso’s Orleans/Niagara BOCES class, at the Niagara Falls Hospital, recently took part in the SUNY’s Got Your Back Day.
The event provides the opportunity for students, faculty, staff and community members from across the state to create comfort kits for victims and survivors of violence, and to learn methods of better preventing and responding to violence. Every day in New York, adults and children seek assistance from hospitals, rape crisis and domestic violence shelters. Often they come in with little more than the clothes they are wearing. The bags contain personal care items to help shelters accommodate the needs of those seeking their services. Sixty-four SUNY campuses took part in SUNY’s Got Your Back, including Niagara County Community College (NCCC) where the Allied Health students helped out.
