The senior classes of the Health Occupations Technician (HOT) and Emergency Medical Services (EMS) recently had a great experience at the Niagara Falls Medical Center. “We were so honored that they allowed us to bring in our students and showed them such a fun and informational day,” says Niagara Career and Technical Education Center HOT teacher Darcy Bouchard. “Myself and EMS teacher Rodney Hogg would especially like to thank Renee DeLuke and Brittany Lubecki who planned it.”
The students were excited to tour the various departments such as Labor and Delivery, an operation room, the Emergency Department, Telemetry Floor/Dialysis and the Schoellkopf Skilled Nursing Facility. “The students were very impressed with the hospital and had a lot of questions about the different departments and the various careers,” says Bouchard. “The hospital also provided fabulous food which our students very much appreciated. We heard many of our students on the bus ride back to our center commenting how welcoming everyone in the departments were to us. We all had a great day!”
Renee DeLuke responded that is was a pleasure to have the students at the hospital. "The students were wonderful in the building and we are so glad that they enjoyed the experience. We are looking forward to visiting BOCES to connect with your students and begin recruiting before the end of the school year. We appreciate the opportunity to collaborate."
