Royalton-Hartland Learning Center’s Appreciation Day is a very special day for staff and students at the Orleans/Niagara BOCES’ site. “The staff celebrate this day as a way for our students and staff to thank the bus drivers and bus aides, school personnel, outside community helpers and providers for their support throughout the year,” says teacher Christa Rocco.
The school has been holding this day of appreciation for several years and the gesture seems truly appreciated by those who are invited to attend. When the bus drivers pull into the school, a bag of goodies is either brought out to them or a staff member from the school will watch the bus for a few moments so they can go in and serve themselves. Throughout the day local law enforcement and District personnel stop in to have either breakfast or lunch and receive a token of gratitude. Principal Tara Grillo and her staff feel very fortunate to have such a dedicated community that cares for the wellbeing of their students and this is a great way to show appreciation.
