SkillsUSA students and advisors posing under pavilion

Our Niagara Career and Technical Education Center’s (NCTEC) SkillsUSA students and their advisors recently spent some time at the Conference Center for their first SkillsUSA Leadership Institution. Advisors Dan Labernardo, Seth Muck, Debi Hillburn and Jenna Rosenberg created a workshop that focused on building leadership skills, strengthening teamwork, and turning ideas into action.

SkillsUSA is a national workforce development organization that helps students build career and technical skills. It’s mission is to empower students to become skilled professionals, career-ready leaders, and responsible community members.

“Students worked through team-building challenges, explored different leadership styles, and began development projects that could make a real impact at NCTEC and in our community as part of our SkillsUSA Program of Work,” explains Mr. Labernardo. “These students aren’t just talking about leadership – they’re learning how to step up, to take ownership, and LEVEL UP their chapter.”

SkillsUSA students who participated are: Emmalee Harden (Lew Port), Bella Muck (Wilson), Hailey Durandetto (Niagara Wheatfield), Juliana Vanderhider (Niagara Wheatfield), Hailey Ivancic (Starpoint), Addison Youngman (Starpoint), Elizabeth Manta (Starpoint), Dakota Rotella (Lew-Port), Braydon Seiwell (Lew-Port), Blake Tagg (Niagara Academy), Daniel O'Grady (Niagara Falls), Nicholas Spencer (North Tonawanda) and Tyler Parker (Wilson).
