Our juniors in the Emergency Medical Services/Firefighting Program have been starting off their year covering firefighter safety and fire rescue knowledge in preparation of receiving their Basic Exterior Firefighting Operations (BEFO) course certification equivalency and Hazardous Materials First Responder Operations (HMFRO).
Earlier this week the students were able to experience the weight of a ladder, deploying a ladder and climbing a ladder at the Niagara Career and Technical Education Center. Teacher Rodney Hogg is helping the students to gain proficiency with the essential knowledge and skills to operate safely and effectively in an immediate fire area.
